Citizenship of Ukraine - it is a close legal connection between physical person and Ukraine, which is reflected in their mutual rights and obligations. 

Foreigners / stateless persons who reside in the territory of Ukraine on legal grounds (a visa, 90 days, 180 days, temporary or permanent residence permit, etc.), recognized by the court incapacitated may acquire the citizenship of Ukraine, if establish a guardianship over a person by citizen of Ukraine. These citizens acquire citizenship of Ukraine since the entry into force of the decision on the establishment of guardianship.

Guardianship is established over the individuals declared incapable to provide moral and economic rights and interests of adult persons who for health reasons can not independently fulfill their rights and obligations. Guardianship is terminated in case of renewal of civil capacity of a physical person recognized as incapable. Persons can not be adopted into Ukrainian citizenship if:

1 committed a crime against humanity or committed genocide;

2 convicted in Ukraine to imprisonment for committing crimes punishable by 5 and more years of imprisonment, taking into account the level of threat to national security;

3 committed on the territory of another state actions recognized by the legislation of Ukraine as crimes punishable by 5 and more years of imprisonment.

The citizenship of Ukraine is not renewed, the person who lost the citizenship of Ukraine in connection with the entry into it as a result of fraud, deliberate submission of false information or false documents.
